About the trip:
The service trip to Ghana will provide a safe and well guided introduction to the uniqueness of West Africa. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a community development project in a rural community, sample West African cultures, and appreciate their uniqueness and diversity.

The Ghana Service Trip offers the following options:
1. Service Project in Ghana
- A community development project in a rural community (primary school) in Ghana (West Africa): computer setting, computer training for teachers and classroom teaching
2. Service-Learning Course (Credit: 3 hours)
Spring 2012: Take the Experimental Course, “Introduction to West African Cultures and Societies (Focus on Ghana)”;it satisfies the Global Issues cognate area (M) of the General Education curriculum.
May 2012: Travel to Ghana forthe Service Project (see description above)
Cost of the Ghana Trip:$3,400
Covers all expenses:
- Air fare (Columbus-Accra-Columbus)
- 3 meals a day
- Lodging in Ghana
- All in-country transportation
- All cultural activities
Payment Schedule :
- $600 deposit: Monday December 5th 2011 (non-refundable)
- $800: January 30th 2012
- $800: February 27th 2012
- $700: March 28th 2012
- $500: April 30th 2012
