Upcoming Trip

CENTRAL AMERICA (May 2018)

We will take a group of students to Costa Rica and Belize to study Conservation within the context of leadership. Through this trip, we will study the ways leaders work with followers within their culture to achieve the goal of ecological conservation and sustainability.

Trip Description: We will meet with leaders from The Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Fund, the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, and local environmentalists. We will swim a coastal reef, hike through rainforests, and visit Mayan ruins. We will perform a service project focused on environmental conservation.

This trip will be part of a three-credit hour course (LEAD 350: "Leadership Study Abroad"). It fulfills the General Education requirement for Marietta College students. It can also be counted as an elective for the Certificate and Minor in Leadership Studies, as well as the international experiential education requirement for the International Leadership Studies Major.
